This Sample Text image needs to be put into this photo, but its got a white colored background that blocks out a lot of my picture when I paste it in. It doesn't look good... that white area needs to be transparent.
1) Go To http://www.online-image- editor.com/.
NOTE: There may be many other tools, this is just one I stumbled onto that's free to use and available Online.
2) In the lower left part of the screen there is a section that will let you Choose and Upload your image.
3) Select the Wizards tab
4) Choose the Transparency option from the menu
5) On the left you will see a set of tool options to use with the transparency, change the Filltype to Replace Selected Color
NOTE: Fill would have only done the outside unblocked areas... replace gets in all the nooks and crannies of the white wherever it is. Depending on what you're trying to do you may want to use Fill instead.
6) Now click on anything in the picture that is the solid color you want to make transparent, in this case it's white.
After processing, it should look something like this... see the checkered background, that indicates that it's now transparent.
7) Finally, Save to download your image and then insert it into your document or photo.
I inserted the new transparency image into my photo, it no longer has that white blocked off area, it looks much better!
I hope that you found this tutorial useful. If you have any questions or if you are trying to find a way to do something else in your photo's or on your computer, leave me a comment or send me an email to let me know. I may be able to find a way to help you.
