BPA in canned food and drinks?

I was really surprised to hear that there was a plastic lining in our soda cans and that it contained BPA, you know (Bisphenol A), the stuff that's not allowed to be used anymore on sip cups and bottles for young children and babies.

After doing a little reading I've found that if your a human being and live in modern society... you are exposed to this stuff in lots of ways. It's part of the process of making plastics, it's in receipts made of thermal paper, its in canned food linings, its in lots and lots of things and is pretty hard to avoid.

Some of the claims is that it acts like estrogen, though in low doses. It can help to cause obesity. I guess that it makes you feel like you're not full so that you eat more. Wow, that seems like a benefit to companies that want you to eat more... that accounts for any company that makes packaged foods by the way. I don't know about all that, but I do know that I don't like extra chemicals in the foods that I eat. And I certainly don't need to eat MORE, ugh!

So, if your worried that you may have some BPA in your body, let me assure you that you do. If you want to try to avoid it... you can do that, but you'll have to do some extreme things to do it. The easiest of them may be to move into the woods and become a hermit living off the land or maybe live in a bubble... as long as that bubble isn't made of plastic.
